Milestones are used to capture key dates that are critical to a project’s success.
For example, in a design project, you might have milestones such as:
• Approved Copy
• R1 Design
• Final Design

For each milestone, Tracker captures three separate dates:
• Estimated Date – the original plan
• Target Date – the current plan
• Actual Date – the final result

The Estimated Date and Target Date are initially the same. However, for historical and reporting purposes, the Estimated Date cannot be changed once a project is created.
The Target Date captures any changes to the plan. For example, if a milestone is delayed and you want to update it, the Target Date is the field to use.
The Actual Date captures a milestone’s final completion date. Once the Actual Date is filled in, the milestone is considered complete.
